The Journey Begins...

I though yesterday morning was cold. But I was wrong. This morning were even colder than the last one. Da pakai stokin pun sejuk lagi.. As usual, I .... (fast foward)...... ate my cereal and went to work... and then during lunch hour, ak ikut Zainal balik Candlewood cm biasa... kt hotel, ak mkn roti 2 keping, nap kejap, pastu g solat Jumaat.... FYI, Muslims perform their Friday prayer every 1pm although during winter, Zuhur time is around 11:50am.... and solat Jumaat ditunaikan kt dlm sebuah tempat bowling... xla betol2 atas bowling lane tu, tapi bangunan tu 2 storey.. so the top floor lah khutbah + solat Jumaat ditunaikan.......

Petang nie, ak balik awal ckit... Dalam kol 5:30PM psl nak kena prepare for quite a long journey. Sampai jer hotel, agak kabut la nk prepare barang2 sumer psl ikut planning, kol 9 da nak mulakan perjalanan... Kemas punya kemas, ak tgok jam, still dlm kol 7 lbey... siap boleh masak mknan lagi buat bekalan untuk trip tu..... haha...

Kol 930PM Khaulah and Wai Mun fetch aku, and g satu lagi branch Candlewood, dekat Santa Anna.... Mmg dalam plan kitorang kumpul ramai2 kt Santa Anna first before we start our trip... Bila smpai sana, kitorang gather2 kejap... ada 3 buah kereta semuanya untuk trip nie...

Pagi ni mmg sejuk... lagi sejuk dari turn on aircond pagi2 kt Malaysia.. lolz.. kali nie ak wat simple blog.. xda blog leret2 kalau xda apa2 menarik pada satu2 ari... pas bangun ak bfast mee goreng Ruski + telur goreng. Then setel sumer, cm biasa ak tunggu Shir Leng and Hwang kt hotel lobby. Secara tetiba Shir Leng offer kunci kereta suh ak drive g kerja... So that was my first time driving a left-hand drive car. Agak awkward la for the first time, mcm baru nk belajar driving.. haha..

So ari tu kerja cm biasa... And then tengahari g balik hotel for lunch.. Ak just follow org ari tu.. Driver pada tghari tu adlah Mr. Zainal.. haha.. Smpi hotel jer, ak mkn roti ckit, and then nap kojap.. Lopeh tu, g kerja balik, buat kerja cm biasa and then balik awal ckit.. Pasal nk g shopping.... shopping aper? Shopping for winter clothings. Haa.. psl apa nk beli winter-wear? Psl ak nk g satu tempat yg cool.... very cooolll.... lolz

So mlm tu, as recommended by many peoples, ak pun g shopping kt ROSS - DRESS FOR LESS.... dia ada byk cawangan kt sini, tapi klu xsilap ak g area TUSTIN. Masuk jer kedai tu, ak terasa cm kedai bundle jer.. brang cm men campur jer brand dalam satu rack.. tapi agak best la, psl if you are lucky enough, you can find gem.. macam treasure hunting ckit2..... So aritu, barang yg aku angkut adalah :

• Travel Adapater ( Finally.....~~)
• 6 Converse socks
• 4 Dickies wool socks
• pair of Weatherproof glove
• Thermal shirt
• Thermal pant
• Billabong jacket

It's working day, man....

Waktu ni da pukol 2AM. Lampu da tutup, TV da tutup, laptop da tutup... Cuma mata aku jer still terbuka.. Kejap golek kiri, kejap golek kanan.. tapi still xbley tido lagi... tangan plak gatal check mobile phone.. kejap check fb, kejap check whatsapp... Mmg xley tido langsung... Adakah ini effect daripada jet lag? atau psl ak da terlebih tido semalam? hahahaha....

Macam2 cara gak ak guna untuk tido... letak bantal bawah pinggang la.. baring tanpa bantal la.. letak bantal kecik bwh tengkuk.. tp xleh tido gak... badan da baring, tapi otak pikir macam2... lampu tido bukak, lampu tido padam.. bangun g bilik air da berapa kali da.. sempat lagi update fb dlm kol 3AM klu x silap.. haha.. pastu ak cuba selawat banyak kali, then akhirnya berjaya tido pukol..... 530AM...."Tomorrow, I'm dead....~~"

Pukol 7 alarm da bunyi, ak cepat2 bangun psl da janji ngan Shir Leng nk g kerja sama2 kol 830AM. Lepas da siap2 mandi and pkai baju, ak sarapan cereal Reeses Puffs sambil tgok kartun kt tv.. haha.. agak2 da hampir2 pukol 830AM, ak pun terus tunggu kt lobby... and then smpi bawah jumpa sorang lagi carpool partner, Mr Hwang Boon Hun... Hwang nie aku slalu nmpk dia dtg opis ak kt Malaysia dulu, tp xbetegur la.. tapi kali nie jumpa face to face.. as usual, introduction phase.... sama macam Shir Leng, Hwang is also a nice person.. lepas masing2 da ready, Shir Leng pun drive kitorang g office...

Sampai kt office, ak kena wat ID card dlu, so I can use it to enter the office and the parking area. Later after that, Hwang took me on a quick guide around the office and the lab area. And then, finally I met my Big Boss in person, Mr Greg Girasek... we introduced each other, and then he showed me around my working area. I had also met my other team mates, exceptional and  very experienced scripters..... After that, I just sat at my working cubicle, and worked as usual like a normal day in Malaysia.....

Around 1130AM, Shir Leng and the gang ajak lunch... oleh kerana ak xleh makan makanan xhalal, dworang ajak aku g mkn kt kedai ada jual makanan halal... nama dia Wholesome Choice. smpi sana, ak nmpk lauk2 yg dihidangkan antaranya Beef Rib, Quarter Chicken, Lasagna, Nasi Khabsah.. haha.. Tapi untuk tengahari tu, ak ambik Salmon.... Memang besar and isi dia pun sedap... (khof.. khof... salmon at IKEA? What's that.. khof.. khof..) tapi dsbabkan portion yg banyak, ak xabis makan, and in the end, just dabao back the leftover... haha...

On the way balik ke office tu ak da start ngantok da... nmpaknya effect xtdo smlm da start menghantui diriku... Bila ak da duduk kt cubicle, dia punya ngantok mmg xterduga la.. haha.. ak lawan kaw2 ngantok tu.. so headbanging la ak sorang2 dlm office... dalam hati, cepat la balik hotel.. ak nak terjun tiruk atas katil nie...

So about 4 hours I had an epic battle with the devil call SLEEPhomet.. I was stumbled on my bench for a few times but in the end, I managed to survived it untill 8PM.

When I got back at the hotel, I ate my salmon leftover, had a quick nice bath and then went to sleep. And that pretty much sums up my day.

"Rehat.... akhirnya, dpt rehat..... rehat.... zzzzzzzz"

The Lords Of Travel Adapter

"Esok da start kerja" kataku malam tadi....

Pagi ni, ak telah dikejutkan dengan alarm jam digital + s3 aku.... oleh kerana badan still letih lagi, ak pun ambik masa baring atah katil sambil menikmati bunyi alarm.... time nie otak masih pikir lagi "betul ker aku nie kt US nie..." haha.. system baru nk boot up.. processor + volatile memory + non-volatile memory tgh process data dalam kadar yang perlahan... bila smpai jer data packet "Go To Work" tu smpi kt processor, serta merta kuar output.... 

"CARPOOL PARTNER IS NOT IN THE SYSTEM. CANCELING "Go To Work" PROCESS"

masa nie baru teringat, ak terlupa contact partner kongsi kereta.. So xda transport nk g kerja... haha.. secara automatik satu badan shutting down. bdan direbahkan, selimut ditarik.... Dan di situlah bermulanya bait-bait manis percintaan aku dgan katil tu smpai petang.... haha... 

Dalam kol 2PM tu baru la terjaga... Checked on the mobile phone.. "yup it's almost dead... 15% battery left..." laptop mmg da lama xda battery... So, pas mandi, ak terus g reception. Jumpa kt receptionist, ak tnya lagi la psal Travel Adapter tu... "I dont think we have it right now, but let me check it first" kata receptionist tu...But sadly, it's still the same.. She said "Yup, we dont have one right now. Sorry about that..." ak pun pasrah laa.. ak tnya la ada x kedai utility dekat2 sini... dia pun jawab "you can try to walk to Sand Canyon avenue there. Maybe you can check at the 7E there...." 

Jadi, dengan bersluar pendek cargo and berbaju-T Uniten GUA, ak pun try kuar menuju ke 7E tu.. start jer kuar dari hotel, angin terus tiup kt aku... Sejuk mcm dlm air cond la pulak.. nak patah balik, cm kelako.. haha.. so mari kita buat mcm biasa, act like nothing happens.... so pengembaraan mencari Travel Adapter pun diteruskan... OTW jalan tu, nampak la ada brother nie tgh jogging... ak pun g la jumpa brother tu, nak pastikan betul ka jalan yg aku lalu nie ada kedai2 utility....brother tu kata mmg xda benda sgt tmpat yg aku hala nie, klu nk g beli brg kena nek kereta... "this is why I'm not into Sand Canyon. It is like nothing here..."  brother tu tambah. hahhaa... Empangan!!! lepas tu bro tu sambung, "Anyway, if you can get to this $&!(@ shop, try to seek for Joe. I work there and he will give you discount if you tell him Allan send you"... owh k, man.... (that's cool, but mission still not completed yet...)

After that, because of the coldness, I just went straight back to the hotel.. and then at the hotel entrance, the receptionist said "Did you find the store?" I said no, but thanks her for the help... but then she said some more... "Oooh!! Actually I do have one travel adapter..." time tu ak dapat rasakan sinar cahaya melimpahi diriku.... "... but that one is at my home. Maybe I can give it to you tomorrow..."      ----------------------------------       Hampeh~~~~

Sebelum ak naik ke bilik aku sempat la tinggalkan msg kt receptionist, so that carpool partner aku balik nnt, ak ley contact dia... lpas tu ak lepak bilik smpi kol 8pm.. time tu tetiba ada phone bilik berbunyi.. ak pun angkat la.. rupa2nya carpool partner aku.. nama dia Shir Leng.. A series of introduction conversation happens.... and then she said "I just got back from work, maybe I can bring you to the grocery stores.. But I need to take a bath first.." aku pun replied, "OK, No problem.. I dont mind much about the grocery stuff for now, i just want to buy travel adapter" (xabis2 travel adapter (-_-)). Lopeh beberapa minit, kitorang pun g la grocery store bernama RALPH.. antara groceries yg murah dan bukak smpi midnight.. ak xbeli byk sgt barang, psl xtau nk beli apa and tgh rushing...yg ak tau pisang kt sini bosao2 bolako..

Bila da smpi balik kt hotel tu, receptionist tegur lagi... "Hi, I managed to find a travel adapter here. You can use this one." YIPPIIEE!! akhirnya dpt jugak benda alah nie.. ak pun da penat nk menaip Travel Adapter jer memanjang.. after that ak ucap terima kasih banyak2 kt Shir Leng psl sanggup bwk ak g grocery... dia pesan esok time nk g kerja, kena tunggu kt lobby dlm kol 830.. ak pun setuju and balik ke bilik... lepas kemas2 brg2 beli td, and charge laptop and S3, aku pun ready untuk tido......

"Esok first day g kerja... teruja dan gementar..." kataku di dalam hati....

This is it. This is the beginning of a whole lots of new experience..... Ecehh... Terasa sangat la poyo berbahasa mat salleh nie..zzz... apa apa pun post kali nie just about how I get to Irvine, CA. So here it goes....

Pkol 12:08PM baru sampai Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Dengan x ckup tidoq nya, turun lah aku dari kapal torbang MAS tu. Ak mmg dtg sorang diri, so time turun ramai2 tu ak just follow jer la passenger yang lain... muka tunjuk budget tau jer la.. haha... tp nasib bek ada ramai officer tukang tunjuk jalan... "Malaysian Airline... over here.... Malaysian Airline... please queue up over there..." dengan slang ARR yang pekat... hahaa...

And then time nk cop I-94 kt visa, rasa cm dlm felem spy tetiba.. xtau apsal... anyway, I-94 tu kira mcm brapa lama US Immigration nk bagi stay kat sana... So klu xsilap aritu ak kena lalu 2 checkpoint, one for Immigration and another one for Custom. (xtau la dua2 tu len ka sama...) First checkpoint just to get the I-94 chop... just bagi passport kt working officer, pastu dia tanya itu ini, then scan jari, kaki, muka.. Then, it's all done. walao.. pastu singgah sebentar kat Custom Officer, dia tanya la.. "Mung ada bawok makanang ka?" aku cakap la.. "ada bang.." then he replied, "What type of foods?" "Instant sajer bang.... Mostly all are instant food..." Pooff!! Settle....

Then saya pun teruskan lah perjalanan saya... bila da nk smpi entrance LAX tu, nampaklah Agent D dari Man In Black tongah pogang signboard tulih "MR. TAHIR". ("Abah, popular ha namamu di sana... lol") And then ak g la jumpa Agent D tu, we both greeted each other and he volunteered to get my luggage into the limo... quite friendly la Agent D nie... (actually most American Citizen is very friendly). Nama Agent D ni Dave jer.. and then dia kata kt ak, berehat2 la kt tempat duduk belakang yg bosar tu.. klu nk take a nap pun boley.. "normally most of the customers will just take a nap until arrive at the destination.." kata Dave. Tapi aku cakap la.. "I dont want to have a quick nap... Else I'll miss the chance to watch all the scenery along the way to the hotel" "Betol jugak kata kome tu..." kata Dave.. sempat la dia bercerita pasal Paul Walker kejap... "That was INSANE, man...!!" seloka Dave dengan penuh semangat.. haha.. lepaih tu, sambil2 drive, Dave pun tunjuk la landmark2 yg menarik2 sepanjang perjalanan tu...

Smpi kt hotel kol 1 lbey kot asanya.. Hotel ak duduk tu nama dia Candlewood Suites, Sand Canyon.... And then cepat2 check in psl da letih bebeno... tapi masa check in tu ak tnya kt receptionist tu ada x guest nama Jessica Alba, dia cakap ada, tp dia xbley gtau no bilik psl guest tu xda kt hotel lagi.. sebab utama ak tanya guest Jessica Alba nie adalaha kerana aku bakal berkongsi kereta dgn guest nie.. So, klu xdpt contact guest nie, mmg xg kojer la jawabnya... haha... Sampai jer bilik, terus kemas2 ckit, then boom tidoq.. pastu bangun jap dalam kol 5 something, dah golap wei... sebab winter season.. lol then time bangun tu la baru perasan, ak terlupa satu benda yg sangat penting sekali klu nk travel luar negara... Travel Adapter.. Kusut gak la xda cara nk charge laptop ngan mobile phone.. so pkir punya pikir, ak pun try tanya receptionist klu boleh pinjam Travel Adapter ka x... Tapi saaaiiiiiyaaaannnnngg... receptionist kata xda plak travel adapter.. so dengan hampa ak balik bilik, masak magi, tgok movie, tdo......~~~~~

"Esok da start kerja" kataku di dalam hati....

Haaaa, nampak tak ngarut di situ? Bahasa beruang anda x paham, so kita berborak bahasa manushiaa....~~ Ak x pernah buat blog sebelum nie, dan time belajar dulu karangan aku pun x pernah menjadi. Jadi boleh dikatakan bidang pernulisan ini bukan bidang saya. Kalau tulis script or coding maybe boleh consider OhKay. Tapi dek kerana request dari famili dan sahabat handal, gue cuber lerw bikin belog. 

In anyway, I would like to welcome you, the reader, to my humble blog. Notice that I wrote this blog in both Bahasa Melayu and English so that it suits with the purpose I'm making this blog, a diary of a beruang Malaysia who try to make a living for 4 months in United States of America. I'll probably use a hundred percent English for upcoming post when I have gain much improvement on my English. Hopefully.....~~ 

So, for the question of the day :

Would you prefer for me to write this blog in full BM, full English, or the Rojak2 way...~~~~?

That's it for now. It is already 11p.m. right now. Needs to have a good rest so I can work efficiently tomorrow. I will try to come up with new posts on the next day. A post, at the very least. Assalamualaikum    (^-^)
